Whitecross Street Regeneration
A busy Whitecross Street Market. Whitecross Street Market, once a thriving market, fell into decline and became a shadow of its former self.
EC1 NDC funded a range of physical improvements to the street, including better pavements for shoppers and better sites for traders, with electricity supplies and clearly-marked stall spaces. A series of high-profile food festivals were also funded to publicise Whitecross Street Market.
The market is now reclaiming it's former popularity with regular weekly markets on Thursdays and Fridays with a variety of stalls - some run by local people who have been supported by EC1 NDC.
