EC1 New Deal for Communities (NDC) launches plans for its final year of operation this week which will see more than £7million invested in the area.
Projects
EC1 New Deal for Communities funds projects to:
• Improve parks, streets, housing estate common areas and other communit facilities
• Support new or improved services that address local issues and/or fill current gap in
service provision.
• Pilot new ways of doing things that can form the basis of future mainstream service delivery, providing better or more outputs for no extra cost.

Whitecross Street Regeneration
Purpose: To restore a neglected street market to a thriving hub of the community.
Status: Ongoing -
Purpose: To provide new facilities in a purpose-built building for young people and adult learners in the area.
Status: To be completed late summer 2009 -
St Luke's Area Street Improvements
Purpose: To improve the streets around St Luke's estate.
Status: Work started spring 2008, due to finish spring 2009. -
Wenlake, Gambier and Chadworth Estate Environmental Improvements
Purpose: To improve the environment around Wenlake, Gambier and Chadworth estates.
Status: Completed spring 2009. -
Purpose: To improve and maintain the appearance of Radnor Street Gardens.
Status: Reopened July 2008
