Three Corners of fun
Kourtnie Larmond, Alice Waugh and Connie Osbourne at Three Corners Adventure Playground Every day is a fun day at Three Corners Adventure Playground, and on Saturday 22 August the whole community is invited to join in when the playground hosts the Three Corners Fun Day.
The free afternoon of entertainment will feature music from Whittington Steel Band and the Rhythms of the City samba band, fete stalls, face painting, barbeque, BMX demonstrations and massage.
Visitors to the fun day can also find out more about the Three Corners Centre opening on the site in the autumn. The £2.4 million building funded by EC1 New Deal for Communities, Islington Council and the Learning and Skills Council will include a youth club and support services for young people, indoor play facilities and an adult learning centre – the first of its kind in the south of Islington.
Vincent Williamson, senior play worker at Three Corners Adventure Playground said:
“We’ve been watching the new centre take shape over the past few months and its starting to feel like a reality now. It’s important that everyone who lives around here knows about it and that’s why we’re inviting people down - to find out more and have a bit of fun.”
The Three Corners Fun Day is funded by EC1 New Deal for Communities and organised in partnership with Islington Council.
