Success for EC1 football team
The triumphant EC1 Youth Under-13s Boys Football Team with coaches. The end of the football season brings woe for some – but not for EC1.
EC1 Youth under 13s boys team won two leagues: the East London and Essex league and the Camden and Islington league. They also took home the cup for the East London and Essex league.
Coach Marc Stocking, who is funded by EC1 New Deal for Communities, said:
"They’ve done extremely well and this is only the second season they’ve played 11-a-side football! It was a fantastic end to a fantastic season.”
The team won the Islington and Camden league after a 2-0 win over Somers Town on Friday (29 May) and on the Saturday (30 May) they achieved a 4-3 win over Elite Soccer to be awarded the East London and Essex cup. Earlier in the season, they won the East London and Essex league with an unbeaten record.
The team will be showing off their trophies at the EC1 Summer Festival on Saturday 11 July – come down to the main stage at 2pm to give them the credit they deserve!
